I think this is Gould making fun of my fantastic-marvelous/medieval-tropic inner life. For my part, this anatomare tells a story of the Crusade of 1101. The Vizier pictured accompanied al-Afdal into the Levant, but the ‘askar of the Cairenes and dream-Cairenes could not reclaim Heirosalaam from the Firanj, whom we call the Franks, who of course had the secret of the level-five palindromic ossifier, the rare Tablature of Estragorn, the rare-earth elemental…
